As Vice President of Operations, Scott Mitchell oversees all operations of the company to facilitate successful completion of projects under budget and ahead of schedule. Scott has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and has been involved with some of BerryHutton’s largest projects to-date.
Scott began his career working for one of the nation’s largest homebuilders gaining valuable knowledge of the single-family and multi-family construction industry. After transitioning to commercial construction, Scott worked as a Senior Project Manager for seven years at EMJ Corporation in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
While there, Scott was responsible for developing and nurturing a long-term relationship with one of EMJ’s valuable clients, Kohl’s, as it began expanding into the Southeast. Later, he was entrusted to help develop the EMJ Hospitality Division which focused solely on hotel construction.
Since joining BerryHutton, Scott has served in numerous capacities ranging from Senior Project Manager, Director of Construction, to his current role as Executive Vice President of Operations where he is responsible for day-to-day operations and overall management of BerryHutton. When not leading projects, Scott is focused on business development opportunities, fostering client relationships, and recruiting and retaining top talent in the industry.
Scott considers his greatest building accomplishment to be his family. He spends his weekends enjoying time at home with his wife, daughter and son.
